The low-cost, long-haul airline says the network re-alignment is part of a revised network strategy to focus on core markets.

The airline has been pushing for rights to serve the Kuala Lumpur – Sydney route since it was founded in 2007 but up until now its local rival Malaysia Airlines, which already serves the route, has campaigned to remain the sole Malaysian carrier with traffic rights on the route. However, following last year’s share-swap, the two airlines are now working more closely together and this is understood to be one of the opportunities the collaboration will bring to the low-cost venture.

The new strategy has come at a price for some of AirAsia X’s existing destinations with the closure of flights to Mumbai, New Delhi, London Gatwick and Paris Orly, due, according to the carrier to developments in global economy, soaring taxes and higher jet fuel prices. The airline has been studying the performance of the routes for the past year, with the European services particularly exposed to new Government legislation and the introduction of the new European Union (EU) Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).

The airline confirms that it will suspend its four times weekly Kuala Lumpur – Mumbai service from January 31, 2012, while flights between the Malaysian capital and New Delhi will be reduced from a daily to four times weekly schedule from the start of March and suspended from March 22, 2012.

The services were only launched in 2010 but Air Asia X says structural issues in the Indian aviation market have made it difficult to operate economically viable flights. These relate to the Malaysian Government removing the Visa-on-Arrival facilities to Indian nationals shortly after the routes were started and the general airport and handling costs, particularly with the recent approval of a 280 per cent increase in fees from April this year. The continued visa restrictions for travel between India and Malaysia, and the increase in airport and handling charges have resulted in a structure not conducive to the low cost model,although Air Asia X suggested the flights could resume in the future.

The two European routes will close at the end of March, with the four times weekly link between Kuala Lumpur and Paris ending on March 30, 2012 and the last of the six weekly flights between the Malaysian capital and London departing on March 31, 2012.

According to AirAsia X the two routes have been really popular recording load factors of over 80 per cent last year, but yields have not been sufficient enough to support the routes with attempts to increase fares simply resulting in a fall in demand due to the price elasticity of low-cost travel. The confluence of macro-factors, including high fuel prices, depressed European economy and exorbitant taxes have made it economically impossible to sustain these flights, says the airline.

Moreover, the European situation is also compounded by a very weak economy and depressed consumer demand, according to the carrier. This has resulted in a reduction in the number of passengers from Europe on the flights over the past several months, a problem that has been further compelled by Air Passenger Duty in the UK market, which will be increased to £92 per departing economy passenger and £184 per departing Premium passenger from 1 April 2012.

The announcement from AirAsia X comes at the same time that Malaysia Airlines is making adjustments to its own route network, but the budget carrier says the cancellations are not linked to its changing relationship with its former rival.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 259px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Rc9DVDbvp-U/TxBS6lXZE2I/AAAAAAAAAls/wCqNlDtx0pU/s400/airasia_x-a330-300.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5697144695039791970" />

Malaysia Airlines

The national carrier, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is revising its own network strategy to return to profitability and after announcing plans to cuts some of its loss-making routes earlier this month, Malaysia Airlines has now revealed growth in frequencies to several ASEAN destinations for the Northern Summer schedule as well as changes to its flights to Beijing, Taipei and Los Angeles. The changes are part of the carrier’s revised Business Plan that was revealed in December 2011 to focus on the main growth markets across the world.

In the regional market a third daily flight will be introduced between Kuala Lumpur and Manila from March 25, 2012, while frequencies between Kuala Lumpur and Phnom Penh will increase from nine a week to eleven from March 25, 2012 and up to 14 from May 1, 2012. In the Indonesian market an additional two Kuala Lumpur – Jakarta rotations will operate during summer 2012, increasing overall frequencies between the two capitals to 42x a week, while Medan, the capital of the North Sumatra province in Indonesia, will see an additional Friday service, increasing its schedule to double daily. In Thailand an additional Sunday rotation between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok will mean the route will be flown four times daily.

Further afield, a new evening Boeing 777-200 flight will operate from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing every day offering an additional 1,974 seats per week to the Chinese capital. This service will complement the existing morning departure providing additional travel options for passengers.

Malaysia Airlines will also revert back to serving Los Angeles via the Japanese capital Tokyo, a route it previously served until 2002. The carrier currently offers three weekly flights to the western US city from Kuala Lumpur via Taipei Tayouan, but from March 25, 2012 it will re-route the service via Tokyo Narita, at the same time introducing a 4x weekly rotation. Due to the changes, Malaysia Airlines will also increase its existing Kuala Lumpur – Taipei service from four times weekly to a daily schedule.

There is certainly a much stronger demand between Tokyo and Los Angeles than between Taipei and Los Angeles (24,000 versus 15,000 O&D passengers in the past year), but Malaysia Airlines will also face a lot more competition with All Nippon Airways (ANA), American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Japan Airlines (JAL), Korean Air, Singapore Airlines and United Airlines already offering a daily link. However, despite the competition the yield between Tokyo and Los Angeles is stronger than between Taipei Taoyuan, particularly important when you bear in mind that Malaysia Airlines’ average air fares on the Transpacific flight from Taipei are around 24.0 per cent lower than the market average.

Good move for Kuala Lumpur - Tokyo - Los Angeles route but a bit risky as they venture into new route instead Kuala Lumpur - Taipei - Los Angeles and increase flight to 4x weekly instead 3x weekly. MAS enjoy very good load factor for Kuala Lumpur - Taipei - Los Angeles route however their fare relatively cheap and lower profit margin. I hope this could increase MAS profitability.

Summary:-
1) Kuala Lumpur - Manila: 3x daily from March 25th, 2012 instead 2x daily
2) Kuala Lumpur - Phnom Penh: 11x weekly starting March 25th, 2012 and later 14x weekly from May 1st, 2012
3) Kuala Lumpur - Jakarta: 42x a week during Summer season
4) Kuala Lumpur - Medan: 14x weekly instead 13x weekly
5) Kuala Lumpur - Bangkok: 4x daily instead 2x or 3x daily
2) Kuala Lumpur - Beijing: 2x daily instead 1x daily
4) Kuala Lumpur - Taipei: 1x daily instead 4x weekly
3) Kuala Lumpur - Tokyo - Los Angeles: 4x weekly instead 3x weekly Kuala Lumpur - Taipei - Los Angeles

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QhD_Jew4B64/TxBTGkdUPsI/AAAAAAAAAl4/RA7CaR5wVlk/s400/Malaysian-Airlines-A330-300.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5697144900954635970" />

Malaysia Airlines Axes 8 routes

Malaysia Airlines has embarked on a significant route rationalisation as part of its restructuring plan to stem its losses anticipated this year and in 2012.

The route rationalisation involves the withdrawal from the following loss-making routes:
Effective 6 January 2012: Daily flights Kuala Lumpur – Surabaya B737.
Effective 10 January 2012: Thrice-weekly Kuala Lumpur – Dubai A330.
Effective 12 January 2012: Twice-weekly Kuala Lumpur – Karachi – Dubai A330.
Effective 13 January 2012: Twice-weekly Kuala Lumpur – Dubai – Damman A330.
Effective 30 January 2012: Daily Langkawi – Penang – Singapore B737.
Effective 31 January 2012: Thrice-weekly Kuala Lumpur – Johannesburg B777.
Effective 1 February 2012: Twice-weekly Kuala Lumpur – Cape Town – Buenos Aires B747.
Effective 2 February 2012: Thrice-weekly Kuala Lumpur – Rome B777.

“The withdrawal was based on our own independent internal profitability and yield analysis," said Malaysia Airlines’ Group CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya. There is a several way how to improve MAS presence in Australia. Which are:-

1) Market their brands and products since there is a huge number of passengers traveling to Europe and Asian countries from Australia.
2) MAS could act as a feeder for Qantas by offering a flight to Qantas' passengers to Europe and Asian countries from Australia and in return Qantas will pay MAS for using MAS fleets.

MAS has good services, one of the World's Best Cabin Crew and a 5-Stars airlines. MAS-Qantas has a good relationship and recently MAS join One World is sponsored by Qantas but MAS didnt take this opportunity to market them. MAS should be more sensitive next time.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DljO-VFnzf8/TrePajVJdmI/AAAAAAAAAhE/6HYenHLRJOY/s400/qantas1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5672159942019741282" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 85px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mka085tFX4Y/TrePamW0VJI/AAAAAAAAAg8/E5opTpveokU/s400/malaysia-airlines.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5672159942832051346" />

Facts that I discovered about MAS

Overall I would satisfy on MAS new A330-300 but I was hoping that their Business Class seat can be reclined more. MAS A330 are better than Singapore Air A330-300 from my point of view. Except changing aircraft from Boeing 777-200 to A330-300 it is not a good idea because A330-300's Economy class are smaller at 32" as compared with 34" on 777-200. Forget about business class seat, as the new Business class are better.

Boeing 737-800 Malaysia Airlines are great except their seats on Economy class are so small at 30" as compared with other mainstream airlines such as Garuda Indonesia (31-32"), Thai Airways (31") and Singapore Airlines (32").

If I'm not mistaken that MAS new A380 Business class are great but the seats can't recline more than A380 of Qantas Airways. What a shame for 5 Star airlines that can't beat 4-star airlines such Qantas, Garuda Indonesia and Thai Airways in terms of seat size and degree of reclining.

Firefly Expand Business

Firefly is negotiating for additional ATR 72-500s to be delivered gradually till 2015 to fuel its expansion into more secondary routes to continuously strengthen its network, according to MD Datuk Eddy Leong.

The community airline had now a total of 12 ATR 72-500 aircraft, after taking delivery of two recently, he said in a statement yesterday.

The two additional aircraft would be used to strengthen Firefly's current network footprint through increased frequency for high demand sectors such as to Langkawi, Penang, Johor Baru and Singapore from Subang, the statement said.

Firefly currently flies to 10 domestic and seven regional destinations with its fleet of ATR, with a total of 324 flights a week.

Currently Firefly operates Jet engines from KLIA to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching but soon Firefly will introduce new routes to Sandakan and Sibu; and operate from Senai Airport, Johor Bahru as their new base to connect direct flights to Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Penang.

They will be using 737-400 in Johor Bahru operations while 737-800 as their KLIA operations.

Malaysia Airlines new baby giant A330-300

Sepang, Selangor (14 April 2011)- Malaysia Airlines has launched its new A330-300 aircraft today.

Starting with a launch flight MH8888 from KLIA, guests were taken for a short journey to experience the new interiors and features of the aircraft. Upon arrival, the traditional water salute welcomed the latest aircraft to the Malaysia Airlines fleet, followed by a mixed drum ensemble. An eclectic dance performance symbolised the potpourri of cultures, as the passengers disembarked from the aircraft.

Malaysia Airlines’ Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil Zahruddin said, “We are delighted to launch our first A330-300 five months after the delivery of the new B737-800 in November. All seats are equipped with AC power supply and USB port for laptops and electronic equipment. The new interiors are installed with mood lighting in all cabins and spacious overhead baggage compartments.

To provide enhanced experience and comfort, the sophisticated features and interiors of the new A330-300 Business Class cabin offer comfortable angled lie flat seats, a fold-out privacy divider and six-way adjustable headrest, among others, presenting the traveller with both a mini office, as well as a place to unwind.

The Economy Class cabin, features lightweight and slim design seats with four-way headrest. Each seat is equipped with individual audio-video on demand smart screens. TOTALLY TOTALLY GREAT EXPERIENCED!! I've travelled to Los Angeles (City of Angels) and Vegas (City of Lights).

I never taught that I could go to States before I start working. This is something totally unexpected for me. I spend about 3days 2 nights in Vegas, the city of entertainment and gambling city! It took about 3 hours drive from Los Angeles. Vegas I would said that it is very very nice city with full of lights. I never been to any city like Vegas before. This city is totally clean and nice. The people moves around 24-7. The people are busing with gambling during the day and night. For Shopping, Las Vegas is a great place to shopping because the tax rate here is cheaper as compared to Los Angeles. Furthermore, there is a lot of factory outlets here! Of course you need a cash even though it is cheap! For example, u can get Coach handbag here at around $USD150 but in Malaysia would cost you more then $USD600! Electronic devices here is cheaper as compared with Malaysia maybe due to tax differences. I watched Zumanity, Cirque de Soleil in Vegas. Good show and I recommended to all of you but you must consider of your age if you are below 18 because the show is totally 18SX.

Disneyland is great theme park! Very nice theme park among I visited so far. I went to Universal Studio and 6 Flags Magic Mountain as well. Back to the story again, you have to ask yourself which category do u want to go. If its thrill theme park then 6 Flags Magic Mountain is the top priority, in terms of variety of rides and nice theme park then Disneyland is your choice and if you like 3D stuffs and Hollywood movie experience then Universal Studio is your choice.

Traveling to States is something travelling to another world! MAS flights really comforts me as their economy class seat among the biggest ever with 34". MAS operates 3 times weekly. I wish MAS refurbish their Economy seats with better In-Flight Entertainment system.

<centre>
<img style="float:right; Malaysia Airlines should deploy new routes to Zurich, Madrid, Athens, Kuwait City, Doha, New York, Hawaii and Christchurch. Don't ask about the load factor because there is so many ways to improve the load factors by simply marketing strategy, product offering and transiting before the final city. My suggestion or my point of view is Malaysia Airlines should introduce new business class on their fleet. Current business class seat are small in size and are not full flat lie bed. Besides that, Malaysia Airlines could deploy on the following routes:

1) Kuala Lumpur - Doha - Muscat - Doha - Kuala Lumpur
2) Kuala Lumpur - Kuwait City - New York - Kuwait City - Kuala Lumpur
3) Kuala Lumpur - Tehran - Moscow - Tehran - Kuala Lumpur
4) Kuala Lumpur - Tokyo Narita - Honolulu - Tokyo Narita - Kuala Lumpur
5) Kuala Lumpur - Johannesburg - Sao Paolo - Johannesburg - Kuala Lumpur
6) Kuala Lumpur - Melbourne - Christchurch - Melbourne - Kuala Lumpur
7) Kuala Lumpur - Zurich - Kuala Lumpur
8) Kuala Lumpur - Athens - Madrid - Athens - Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia Airlines might concerned on the availability of an aircraft to deploy these routes. Malaysia Airlines could use operating lease for temporary to test the markets and when the market is there, malaysia airlines can subsequently purchase a new aircraft to cater the demand and growth.

With the new aircraft, Malaysia Airlines can reduce fuel consumption with better fuel efficiency aircraft. Besides that, Malaysia Airlines can offer a new products such as new first, business and economy class, nicer interior, shower for first and business class, Wifi and mobile phone coverage on board.

Malaysia New LCC

Firefly Airlines is the newest low cost carrier (LCC) in Malaysia and 100% subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines. Malaysia Airlines is the World's First Full Service Carrier using Boeing's Sky Interior. This are the few steps taken by Malaysia Airlines to maintain competitiveness against other airlines and maintain its 5-Stars status airlines. However their seat are relatively small as compared to their close rivals such as Garuda Indonesia (31"-32"), Singapore Airlines (32") and Thai Airways (31") which MAS seat size is at 30". In a modest ceremony, MAS together with CAE, a world leader in providing simulation and modelling technologies and integrated training solutions, held a small opening and launching ceremony of its new B738 simulation training centre in Glenmarie, Subang.

The new training centre, maintained and operated by CAE, features a CAE 7000 Series Boeing 737-800 Level D full-flight simulator (FFS) and a CAE SimfinityTM Boeing 737-800 Integrated Procedures Trainer (IPT) acquired from CAE in November 2009.

The High Commissioner of Canada, His Excellency Mr. Randolph Mank graced the event as the honoured guest. Also present at the event was the Senior Trade Commissioner of Canada, Mr. Douglas R. Bingeman.

Mr. Jeff Roberts, CAE Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services in his opening speech commended MAS as the training centre was built in record time.

"MAS has been a great customer of CAE since our first sale of simulation equipment 28 years ago," said Roberts. “Advanced flight simulators are essential to the safe and efficient operations of airlines around the world. Simulation-based training ensures that new pilots required to meet growing demands, as well as more experienced pilots, are regularly trained and re-trained in essential skills and decision-making judgement.”

Roberts was optimistic about the aviation industry, citing a global growth trend which is expected to increase the demand of pilots to approximately 18,000 yearly. “One of the highest rates of pilot growth will come from Asia for both passenger and cargo traffic,” he added.

MAS CEO, Tengku Dato’ Seri Azmil Zahruddin remarked that the launch of this training centre marked the start of future growth and innovation in MAS. “It is a very significant and important event for us as this marks the beginning of new aircrafts coming into our fleet,” said Tengku Azmil.

“The relationship also marks the more innovative, professional and international way MAS is moving forward in terms of business operations. “It is necessary for airlines to do things in a new way, to work with partners and ensure that they meet our high safety standards. It is a big step for us,” added Tengku Azmil.

Malaysia Airlines opportunity left it out.

I wrote this specially for Malaysia Airlines management team, not to condem but there is a room for them to capture the market. I see opportunity and they see nothing. I can see there is opportunity to deploy new routes such as.....

Kuala Lumpur - Tehran - Moscow and vise versa
As you know, a lot of Arabic or to be specific Iranian migrating to Malaysia or work or business or further study here. Iranian do fly to Moscow especially for technology discussion and technology transfer for military. Iran Air do offer to Kuala lumpur and Moscow service. However, Iran only cater low-medium traveller because lack of quality products. Malaysia Airlines can fulfil this gap by deploying a new route from Kuala Lumpur to Moscow and transit in Tehran.

Kuala Lumpur - Kuwait - New York or Kuala Lumpur - Kuwait - Zurich or vice versa
Look to our competitor, Garuda Airlines. Before they capture the market to Amsterdam route, they introduce Jakarta - Dubai - Amsterdam route until when the direct flight is needed with high demand. Transit will help them to fill the empty seats. Kuwait is one of the rich with oil country and consider wealthy country. Kuwait do have their own national carier, Kuwait Airways but the product offering cannot beat Malaysia Airlines and I can see there is oppurtunity for Malaysia Airlines to capture the market in this route. Singapore Airliness do offer Singapore - Zurich direct flights with largest aircraft ever build, A380. Malaysia Airliness loss the market share to Singapore Airlines and need something refresh and new to deploy to respective routes.

Malaysia Airlines A380 Delay and Delay Again...

Airbus SAS, the world's largest maker of commercial aircraft, has deferred delivery of Malaysia Airlines' MAS) first of six superjumbo A380s for a third time, without giving a reason. MAS A380 one of the most anticipated aircraft.

The national carrier will now take delivery of its first plane in the first half of 2012 instead of August 2011.It is unclear whether the airline will be compensated for the delay in the delivery of the aircraft. The list price of one A380 is US$315 million (RM1 billion).The new delay in delivery will be a setback for MAS' plans to increase capacity on high-density routes such as London and Sydney. MAS' parent company Penerbangan Malaysia Bhd had initially ordered the six A380s in 2003 for delivery from January 2007 to December 2008.

The delivery of the aircraft was deferred to January 2011 and then to August 2011, due to Airbus encountering problems ramping up the pace of its A380 production, in part because of the large amount of customisation of each plane.It then had to scale back deliveries of its A380s for 2009 and 2010 after customers deferred orders due to the economic crisis.It was reported that MAS had received in excess of RM330 million so far in compensation for the delays.

I think MAS should purchase Boeing 747-8 later on to replace its Boeing 747-400. Boeing 747-8 can fly longer range, nicer interior, more fuel efficient and more load factor as compared with 747-400. Thus it would reduce operating cost in future. The delay really take a long time for MAS and it will effect MAS for modernisng its fleets. From my perspective view, MAS should purchase B787 to make direct flight to New York, Stockholm, Zurich, Moscow, Buenos Aires, Milan, Manchester, Berlin, Dublin etc in order to capture the market shares and increase MAS' profit in future. 787 is single aisle aircraft reducing the maintenance cost and further more this aircraft suitable for long haul with low load factor.

Dearest Malaysia Airlines

Dear Malaysia Airlines,

I do hope that Malaysia Airlines could replace its older 777-200ER with 777-300ER with latest in-flight entertainment and include with first class on board in order to compete other airlines such as Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific. More over with a new fleets, it will significantly reduce on cost-per-passenger as the maintenance cost and fuel burning lesser and enhance customers' flight experience.

Beside that, Malaysia Airlines should purchase Boeing 787 or Airbus 350 that will be used for new routes in future such as Milan, Manchester, Berlin, Dublin, Moscow etc. The aircraft can accommodate lesser passenger as compared to Boeing 777-300 or Airbus 340 but the demand on that sector relatively low so Boeing 787 or Airbus 350 is a great choice for that routes.

Malaysia Airlines had bought 6 Airbus 380 and waiting for the delivery late 2011. The aircraft it is not just big but it will give passenger a great pleasure when they ride on the World's Biggest Aircraft. Thus Airbus 380 will significantly increase Malaysia Airlines' name through out the world. Sometimes, the passenger will choose the aircraft based on size of the fleet. From my point of view, Malaysia Airlines should not purchase just 6 A380 but 11 A380. The aircraft can be used for Amsterdam (daily route), London (twice daily route), Taipei-Los Angels (3 times weekly), Sydney (twice daily route), Paris (reduce from 14 times weekly to 10 times weekly with combination of A380 and B777) and Nagoya-San Francisco (3 times weekly). Besides that, Malaysia Airlines should have SPA and shower on their A380 that will give the best 5-star flight experience like-no-other.

WHY YOU SHOULD TRAVEL TO MALAYSIA??

Why you should travel to Malaysia compared to other countries in South East Asia.

1) Public transport well connected, convenience and cheap such as trains, buses and taxis that makes you easy to travel.
2) Good places to relax such Taman Negara Pahang, Pulau Langkawi, Pulau Sipadan, Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Tioman that can be compared with Bali, Indonesia and Phuket, Thailand.
3) English is second language and widely use in Malaysia makes you easier to communicate.
4) Shopping is cheap. It is located in the Celebes Sea east of the major town of Tawau and off the coast of East Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. It was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic cone that took thousands of years to develop. Sipadan is located at the heart of the Indo-Pacific basin, the centre of one of the richest marine habitats in the world. More than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral species have been classified in this ecosystem.

Normally, rare diving scenes are frequently seen in the waters around Sipadan: schools of green and hawksbill turtles nesting and mating, schools of barracuda and big-eye trevally in tornado-like formations, pelagic species such as manta rays, eagle rays, scalloped hammerhead sharks and whale sharks.

A turtle tomb lies underneath the column of the island, formed by an underwater limestone cave with a labyrinth of tunnels and chambers that contain many skeletal remains of turtles that become lost and drown before finding the surface.

Going there you can take flight to Kota Kinabalu or Tawau then you can use ground transportation and continue the journey by a 1-hour drive to Semporna town, lastly a 30-minute speedboat will take you to Mabul, which is the jump off point for Sipadan Island explorations. The Island well protected and conserved. Therefore spending there quite high and there is limit of tourists can enter the island at one time. The island have been short-listed as "New 7-wonders in The World"!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kVxdab3c2y8/S2EasWouBvI/AAAAAAAAAQA/wCLP65Hk630/s320/2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431651974878463730" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 250px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kVxdab3c2y8/S2EasLOQBHI/AAAAAAAAAP4/99AdrfwG-Es/s320/5.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431651971814655090" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 127px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kVxdab3c2y8/S2Ears5yMAI/AAAAAAAAAPw/ABYvdFpgrZA/s320/3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431651963675750402" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 270px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kVxdab3c2y8/S2EasjtMXEI/AAAAAAAAAQI/IhUE3Ynht4s/s320/6.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431651978386889794" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 230px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_kVxdab3c2y8/S2Eb9nXnS-I/AAAAAAAAAQY/49w49ouFyqM/s320/1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5431653370939526114" />

MAS A330-300

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) just bought 15 A330-300 with 10 options middle of this month. It is a good step since replacing the aging fleet but I was wondering whether the Business class and Economy can compete with Emirates A330 or not.

Recently, MAS wanted to introduce new routes in Europe, West Asia and explore opportunity in Japan. I hope MAS can reveal the route soon!! Can't wait!!

MAS's Amsterdam route should replace with A380 instead using 747-400 since the sector high in demand and boost MAS' income and increase MAS's name. Currently MAS purchase 6 A380 but i think MAS should purchase 8 or 9 A380s. Currently MAS planning to use its 4 A380 to London route and 2 A380 to Sydney route. So by purchasing 2 or 3 more A380, it can be use for Amsterdam route and 1 for India route or 1 for spare for maintenance and during peak seasons.

MAS New 737-800

Malaysia Airlines (MAS), Malaysia premium airlines will be added with a new 737-800 fleets starting 4th Quarter 2010. The new fleet enhance with 787 Dreamliner interior which results unbeatable interior and significantly reduce weight and fuel consumptions. The new 737-800 equip with enhanced entertainment that will be placed every seat of Business class with an entertainment system. Im totally glad that MAS enhanced their entertainment system and interior in order to compete with other premium airlines.

However, MAS need to replace all its aging fleet 747-400 with A380 as it more reliable, less fuel consumption per passenger and significantly market or enhanced MAS names through out the world. I recently flied with MAS A330-200 and I think the aircraft should stop from services as I feel that the aircraft is too old and lack of entertainment. Maybe replace with 787 Dreamliner.

Malaysia Airlines & Its 5-Star Status

Malaysia Airlines is well known airline operator in the world that operate from Malaysia with 747, 777, A330 and 737 fleets. Malaysia airlines awarded with 5-Star airlines status for years including this year and major awards such "Best Cabin Crew". But again how Malaysia Airlines maintain its 5-Star airlines status for the next few years with its aging fleet, lack of quality entertainment (A330 for business class only a portable media player with only a few movies can be selected & also to all its economy class). The only way to maintain the status by upgrading its fleet with state-to-the-art entertainment, comfortable seat (maybe wider and leather), gorgeous interior and new aircraft (maintain its safety, cost-effective and performance). By replacing its aging aircraft, it can increase the safety and efficiency on fuel consumption plus increase the capacity of the seats and reduce the maintenance costs as well. Look for the closer competitors such as Emirates (include SPA shower on their A380, gorgeous interior and high quality of entertainment-Ice), Qatar (new fleet and high quality entertainment-Oryx) and Singapore Airlines (new aircraft, Suite on their A380 and wider seat). I understand the economic downturn during this time but at least upgrade their interior and in-flight entertainment instead replacing the aircraft). Maybe MAS should collaborate with universities to do research on how to improve MAS to another level of airline. We as a student understand more as our mind is still young and fresh.

<img style="display:block; The service i rated 4 out 5. The stewardess gave a good service but not all the time they smile. Fireflyz just provide a food but not really a food but a cupcake and a drink which is a good step towards to offer better quality service. I fly with Fokker50 2 times and recently with ATR72-500. The new turboprop are good with quieter engine, vibration lesser and comfortable seat. Only one I thing dislike about the seat, which is the space between the leg and in front seat are too small. Overall the new ATR72 are good and I do hope so that Firefly could provide entertainment on the board as well.

Recomended Airlines To Malaysia

Recomended Airlines To Malaysia
FULL SERVICE AIRLINES

Asia Pacific
1) Malaysia Airlines
2) Cathay Pacific

Middle East
1) Emirates
2) Etihad Airlines
3) Qatar Airways

Europe
1) Malaysia Airlines
2) Emirates
3) Etihad Airlines
4) Qatar Airways
5) Singapore Airlines

United States
1) Malaysia Airlines - I do offer tourist guide service and the charges ranging from RM50-RM200 for a day! Charges not necessary. Sometimes I take it as a free since becoming your mates in here. :) Depending on travel area and time as well. I do travel outside this two state but the charges would be different depending on airline fare and accommodation as well. Basically I'm quite familiar in this two places.
